World FM is a low power FM (LPFM) radio station originally based in Tawa,
Wellington, New Zealand.
As from 2016 our main studio and internet services have moved to Marahau & Stoke, in the Nelson region, however
we still operate an FM service to Tawa.
Our aim is to play a mix of some of the best world
music, Kiwi classics, and
a selection of radio programming from around the world.
We are currently broadcasting on 88.2 MHz, in Tawa, Wellington,
New Zealand, using an NRG PPL Pro III transmitter
, and Stereo Tool
stereo & RDS encoding software.
Our antenna is a tuneable 1/4-wave groundplane from the FM DX Antenna Company
World FM has been on air since March 2005, using a
variety of frequencies in the 88 MHz LPFM band.
We also
broadcast in Marahau, near the entrance to the Abel Tasman
National Park, Nelson. This currently operates on 88.2 MHz, using
a BW Broadcast transmitter.
Our programming is managed using StationPlaylist's
Studio & Creator software packages.
